Adding Fish
Research species before buying them. Find out:
- How big they will get
- If they are peaceful or aggressive
- What kind of diet they need
Add fish slowly
- Don't add too many fish at a time
- This gives your tank's ecosystem time to adjust
Use a quarantine tank for adding more fish
- Keep new arrivals in a smaller, separate tank for 3-4 weeks
- This helps keep diseases out of your main tank; it requires some patience but will save you hassle in the long run
